Who we are

IEP Co-Pilot ("we", "us") is a product of Bright Steps Behavior Support. We help special education teachers and IEP coordinators draft compliant IEP language faster. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

How we use information

Student data

IEP Co-Pilot is a teacher-facing tool. We strongly recommend that teachers do not enter personally identifying student information (PII) such as full names, dates of birth, or government IDs. Use initials or case numbers instead. We treat any content you enter as confidential and do not sell it. We do not use customer IEP content to train third-party foundation models.

Service providers

We use trusted infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, database, AI model providers, email delivery, and payment processing). These providers process data on our behalf under contract and may not use it for their own purposes.

Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@brightstepsbehavior.com. We respond within 30 days.

Security

We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, row-level security in our database, and least-privilege access controls. See our Security page for details.

Children's privacy

IEP Co-Pilot is not directed at children under 13 and is intended for use by educators and school staff.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
